Gurdjieff Residential

27 July – 1 August 2026

The Gurdjieff Society of Newport
(founded by George and Helen Adie)

Mary MacKillop Spirituality Centre
Central Coast (NSW)
8 Humphreys Road, Kincumber South

“… a public repetition was given on definite days, and in some schools perhaps even every day, of the entire course in a condensed form of the sciences that could be learned at these schools. Sometimes this repetition lasted a week or a month. Thanks to these repetitions people who had passed through this course did not lose their connection with the school and retained in their memory all they had learned. Sometimes they came from very far away simply in order to listen to the repetition and went away feeling their connection with the school. There were special days of the year when the repetitions were particularly complete, when they were carried out with particular solemnity — and these days themselves possessed a symbolical meaning.”
G.I. Gurdjieff, quoted in P.D. Ouspensky, In Search of the Miraculous, 302-303

We shall be practicing the authentic ideas and methods of G.I. Gurdjieff, employing the ideas, the contemplative exercises, the Movements, the music, readings from Gurdjieff and his pupils, and the tasks he instituted to help one remember oneself during daily activities.

Accommodation is on the site itself, in single or double rooms, as required. The entire event is catered (breakfast, lunch, supper, morning and afternoon tea), so that those attending may participate as fully as possible in the events. There will be free time each afternoon, and optional recreations (e.g. walking in the grounds or along the shores of the Kincumber Broadwater, trips to nearby nature reserves or to the Pacific coast, and gardening). The Centre’s web site provides no mean idea of the property and its atmosphere: https://mmsm.org.au/centres/central-coast/

The Centre is approx. 13 miles from Gosford Railway Station, itself about 80 minutes by train from Central Station. The residential commences at 10:00am on Monday 27 July, and ends with lunch on Saturday 1 August. Those travelling from afar may wish to book in or out a day earlier or later. We can arrange that, for a reasonable cost. Ideally, all bookings would be finalised by 1 June 2020.

Fees are $1,700 all inclusive.
